I’m Karin.

I have walked the path of shadow work for a long time, years before I became a mother. I always walked in the dark places and I am not afraid of them.
When a woman tells me her story, I see what is underneath: where she closes down, where the little girl was hurt, what repeats. I make the invisible visible.

When my son was born, I thought I had done my work. I had six years of trauma work behind me. I knew my patterns, I knew the tools, I knew the theory inside out.
And I had two and a half years of pure bliss with him.
Then he reached the age where my own childhood wounds sat. And even with all those years of work, I fought against what came up. I kept it down, I kept it down, I controlled. And then this monster took me over. And it was not me. It was forty years of frozen anger, finally refusing to stay buried.
That was my doorway. I did not choose it, it took me. And I went down there, all the way, with everything I had learned. What I found at the bottom was not a monster. It was a little girl, and gold.
If even I resisted, after six years of this work, your resistance is allowed too.
The way I see it, there are four chapters, and we have forgotten the first one.
Pregnancy is the first awakening.
Birth is the portal.
Motherhood is the initiation.
And at the end stands the wise woman.
The one our society does not have anymore.
I am walking this initiation myself, every day. Today I even walk this path with my own mother, she is 74, and we are rewriting what was passed down between us. It reaches three generations back and three generations forward.

I don’t teach a theory. I walked it, and I still walk it.
